I’ve had this phone for a few months now so Here are pluses and minuses about it:+Price: A great price for a good phone!+Great camera with pro setting such ASA Aperture speed etc.+ Battery life is long and charges quick!+The screen is very nice, Hi Def. Great colors.+ It will transfer most of your apps from your old phone if you have the USB cable. Great/Easy first time setup!+Great stereo Speakers, great sound very loud and clear!+ It corrects grammar as well as spelling …Now the Minuses:- There isn’t hardly any apps to run audio or video files so I had to install VLC but still cannot see the audio files while playing them, unless I use the volume control and grab it before it disappears.-The screen comes ON with slightest movement (despite the fact that I changed the Settings and told it Not to)! Once I had this phone in my pocket. Later I saw a MSG on screen saying “The system has turned your Flashlight off because it stayed on for over 30 minutes”! So the phone screen turned on in my pocket by itself, while walking and then somehow turned the flashlight on without me knowing! I was Not impressed!- The photos taken by camera, take too much space! I cannot take pictures which are less then 3+ MB! No matter what settings I use, it only goes up…up to 16 MB for a single photo?!- If you are used to Samsung phones then this phone will take some getting used to! The Escape and working Apps indicators are on the opposite sides. The phone access, is to wipe the screen vertically and some other differences.-There are no email program beside Gmail and no internet browser except for google!-I had to go back using my old phone because of these little annoyances!I do not use the fingerprint on any phone because if your finger is wet (or it’s raining) or sweaty then it will Not work! In fact I leave my phones Unlocked. Twice It helped the (Honest) people who found it to call me at the house…but I would not recommend it.

The only quirk that’s shown up is that it tends to turn the ringer off by itself. Otherwise, I don’t see how you could get as good a package as this for less money. Even dropped it into the toilet and it didn’t hurt it. Maybe I’m not as Smartphone savvy of some reviewers, but I’ve had just about every major brand (except Apple), and for me this is a great bargain.

I was very pleased with the speed of shipping this TCL 40XL out since it was a replacement of my LG K51 which has been a wonderful cell phone for the entire time that I have owned it.After a lot of research on what to get to replace my cell phone, I decided to take a chance on this, the TCL 40XL, and I’m so glad that I did. Not only did I get “a lot of bang for the buck” as they say, I also have recently had the opportunity to contact TLC’s customer service and was most pleased with the efficient, knowledgeable, and proficiency of the tech customer service person that helped me fix my concern. It was not anything having to do with the hardware or software, but an operator error that I could not fix. My issue was corrected within 7 minutes of my calling!!!So having stated all of that, I would highly recommend the TCL 40XL to anyone who just wants an updated and cost friendly new cell phone that has a lot to offer to their customers along with great customer service !!!Thanks TCL, and by the way, I have not been paid by TCL to state my review! It’s all me!!!! Hope this helps anyone to make a very smart decision on what to buy as their next cell phone!!! I know I did!!! TCL, please keep up the great work for your customers!!

Everything works well. If coming from IOS, expect it to be a tad slower on processing speed. But overall, Decent phone.

I have owned TCLs in the past, but I have to say, they have come a very long way!!! I purchased this phone for my husband, but I plan to make TCL the phone of my future! Samsung has priced themselves out of the affordable market! Way to go TCL!

Charging port quit working on my old phone, didn’t much care for it anyways, Samsung Galaxy S8. Plugged the old Sim Card in, and everything loaded and ready to go in less than an hour, super easy. Just had to add a few apps and tweak some things to get to my desire. Size works for me (order a case). Camera and sound is superb. Screen brightness is great. Battery jury is still out, about 2 days depending on how much you are using it, and screen brightness. Got the old phone fixed for about $100 for a backup. I would go TCL again, impressed.
