I purchased this to replace a G6 Play that had been dropped in a swimming pool.Unfortunately, I can’t think of any compelling reason to purchase this as to spending an extra $30 on a better phone. The processor is dated, the touch-sensitivity on the screen is laggy, storage is typical for a phone in this price-point.It is running Android 13, I believe but here’s my issue; there are features that it SHOULD have, but doesn’t. For instance, I can’t format an SD card to be used as, “Internal Storage”; the option simply isn’t there. A lot of the functions that other phones with this OS can do are not available on this one. It’s like the System Settings app has been stripped of a bunch of functionality. It doesn’t have NFC so don’t even think about, “tapping” to pay.Also, you can’t move an app to the SD card; functions that’s been available since Marshmallow I believe! So, regardless of how large your SD card is, you’re still limited to the internal storage for apps, etc.Lastly, try as I may, could NOT find a way to change the default directories to the SD card, such as download, pictures, music, etc. You can only move them manually, after the fact.I don’t blame the seller; they didn’t make the phone. Spend a few $$ more and get better functionality.

Yes this a cheap phone. Reviews say to skip this one. I don’t. This is a very capable phone with all the most essentials features. But it is burden with “crapware”. Go through the installed apps and uninstall or disable the junk will transform it from sluggish to speedy. If you are savvy enough to root your phone and get rid of the junk 100%, even better. Not for the person that loads all kind of junk and games on there phone. I purchased 2 of these, one for myself and one for my son and they have been great with those guidelines in mind.

Just had to swap the sim card and restart.I did have one issue with the data not working (gray LTE and no connection) but after going to settings -> network -> APC (access point name) and selection the only option (iirc TracPhone something or another) it works great.

The first one wouldn’t recognize the sim card at all. But when I got the second one it still didn’t work after recognizing the card.If you buy your service from T-mobile et al, they impose an additional fee to use your equipment. This required a trip to a Metro location, in my case, before the phone would work. Since this doesn’t happen with Cricket, I must assume that T-mobile charges the extra 30 to update our data which they then sell. It’s nothing but a scam upcharge and not Motorola’s fault.Anyway, after the Metro PITA things are working now. The three-cay battery claim is suspect as bloatware overhead and a wake-up alarm ate 10% of the battery in 9 hours with no calls or intentional internet use.
